Although there is no danger associated with iTunes, downloading music can consume bandwidth and can be distracting for students etc. You can also block general downloading of applications from the internet, by ticking the 'General Downloads' box This helps to prevent applications from being installed on company or school workstations. Blocking downloads means that your workstations require less maintenance to remove the extra applications.

Be safe rather than sorry. Youtube is more popular than MySpace according to Alexa. Should I block YourTube, Ogrish and Google Video in our company?

YouTube, Ogrish, MSN Video and other video or music download sites are not as dangerous for adults that they can be for children. However, they are still take up bandwidth and hard disk space so blocking YouTube etc. will stop your employees wasting their work time. In addition, blocking the downloading for installation of software packages will reduce the maintenance required on your workstations and keep them in a more stable state.
