According to Skype's web site - actually detailing which ports should be opened for Skype to operate correctly :
"incoming TCP and/or UDP to the specific port you see in Skype Options. This port is chosen randomly when you install Skype".
and also states that:
"Skype needs unrestricted outgoing TCP access to all destination ports above 1024 or to ports 80 and 443".
Another page on Skype's web site indicates that
"Ideally, outgoing TCP connections to all ports (1..65535) should be opened. This option results in Skype working most reliably".
The Skype page on PortForward.com shows screenshots indicating that users can choose the incoming port that skype uses.
The wide variety of ports used by Skype, together with the fact that random or user-selectable ports can be used, makes it very difficult to effectively block Skype by blocking Skype's ports.
